Professional Before and After School Child Care
MLEDP: Mt. Lebanon Extended Day Program (MLEDP) is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) charitable organization with over 20 years of experience providing quality child care for families in and around the community of Mt. Lebanon. MLEDP provides year-round child care for school-age youth in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Professional
All the MLEDP centers and programs are licensed by the PA Department of Public Welfare. Each center’s staff strives to reach and maintain the stringent standards of quality school age care established by the National After-School Alliance and Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars Quality Care Program. All MLEDP staff meets and exceeds the regulatory standards for child care professionals. Our staff includes members who earned Masters Degrees and additional postgraduate studies in child-related areas, Bachelor’s Degrees in child-related areas, as well as either Associate’s degrees or are currently college students studying in this field.
Affordable
Always an issue when talking about child care. In a recent survey of rates of comparable organizations throughout Pittsburgh, we learned that we are mid-priced. Though rates are not calculated on an hourly basis, if they were, care ranges from $3.00 - $5.00 per hour, significantly less than most in-home care.
Convenient
One of the many reasons for our success, with 7 locations around Mt. Lebanon, parents find it easy to use our services. MLEDP bus transportation is available to support Kindergarten Care, scheduled field trips and when scheduling permits, participation in special interest and religious education classes, as well as a wide range of summer-related activities.
MLEDP provides enriching, recreational and safe care in a nurturing environment for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Each day child care professionals and support staff create the child-centered programming that enables children to have fun and make responsible choices for the use of their leisure time.
MLEDP operates 3 different programs throughout the year:
Kindergarten Care:
Operates two sessions; Morning and Afternoon
Morning Session: Open 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Afternoon Session: Open 11:15 AM through 6:30 PM
School Year Care:
Open Before & After School, grades 1st through 5th: Opens before school at 7:00 AM and operates until 6:30 PM after school is out.
Summer Fun:
Camp-Like Atmosphere for youth, grades K through 5th, starting at: 7:00 AM and running all day until 6:30 PM
