I started out as an environmental geologist, but once I had children of my own, I discovered that working with children was my passion. I operated a family day care home in my home for nine years, and the went back to school to get my Elementary Education certification through the University of Pittsburgh. After that I spent 7 years teaching elementary school students before switching back to child care. I have over twenty years of experience working with young children, and I enjoy helping them to express both their individuality and creativity through developmentally appropriate activities and experiences. My favorite children’s book is Owl Moon, by Jane Yolen. I enjoy the rhythm of the text and the trusting relationship that the young girl has with her father as she experiences her first owl siting. It’s magical!
